MentallyWILLED.com was created to share the story of one child's very long journey, spanning several decades, to overcome the form of psychological abuse known as gaslighting. The events described and depicted here represent actual experiences and obstacles encountered as part of that journey. It is with the hope that others may learn from this story of one individual's experiences, and the severe consequences of gaslighting abuse, that this site has been created. Perhaps you, or someone that you know, has experienced similar types of events.

Gaslighting abuse may take many forms but it is often quite subtle. Its effects may, however, be long-lasting and life-altering, depending on the severity of the abuse. For some children, the consequences of gaslighting, neglect, bullying, and other forms of both psychological and physical abuse may lead to the misdiagnosis of various developmental and/or mental disorders, without the underlying abuse or the impact of it ever being noted by anyone.
